Bad/Weather and Emergency Closure Procedures

Procedures to follow in the event of a school closure due to inclement weather conditions or emergencies:

Parents are advised to listen to High Peak Radio on 103.3 or 106.4 or to go to their website http://highpeakradio.co.uk/school-watch for updates during bad weather.

In addition, we are registered on the Snow Day website www.snowday.co.uk

In the event of an emergency or bad weather, The Headteacher will compose a message to all parents, staff and pupils which will be displayed on the Snowday website indicating whether the school will be closed.

To view this message, follow the link snowday.co.uk and click on the search button. Type the first part of the school name into the box and then click search. A list of schools and organisations will be displayed. (Please check carefully the school address as there may be several organisations listed with the same name.)

Click on the correct school name and this will take you to the page where the Headteacher's message is displayed if appropriate.

The snowday site has also introduced automatic closure notification via email and text for any parent or pupil who wishes to register with them for a small fee.

On the rare occasions this situation may occur, we hope that this system will ensure parents and pupils are notified as soon as possible.
